Cricut Imagine by ProvoCraft

Hello! Thought I'd give a quick update. First...I found a home for my bear in the cradle diaper basket - YAY! I love being able to give things away, especially for babies! I love babies:o). Second...I caved in and checked out the new Cricut Imagine. I was avoiding finding out what it was all about because I knew I'd want one. But, I have to tell you, it is THE COOLEST thing I have ever seen! Now I really really want one. Check out this video!!

Isn't this GREAT!

Also, we are very close to our goal of becoming a 501c3 status for our nonprofit Running for Parkinson's. To keep updated on how that is doing, you can go to my running blog - just click on the Running with Parkinson's to the left. Haven't updated in a while, but things are happening, so I'll be posting soon.
As always...God is Good all the time!

Fun Stuff!

So, I have been wondering for awhile if I could cut wood pieces out with my cricut. Well, being the google queen that I am, I went online and found that absolutely it can be done! It recommended Balsa wood.

Last night I went to AC Moore to try and get ideas for my carousel diaper cake, and in the midst of picking out beads and putting them back, I remembered the Balsa. Went searching and Voila - they had it. Needless to say my craft trip did a 360 and I was on to an entirely different project. I cut out a heart with wings, and then got the idea of making my pic train out of wood. I had sooo much fun! But, now I'm bummed because I am out of wood lol.

I did notice that the wood I bought was a tad too thin. It breaks pretty easily...heck I cut the stuff with a pair of scissors. So, next time I buy it, I will definitely have to make sure it is a little thicker.

Now all I need to do is learn to sew and I am on my way to being a well rounded crafty lady!

I love the way these turned out! I am now liking the diapers in a basket as apposed to just being in a cake like design. I am racking my brain for my next creation! Should be interesting. I am truly thankful that God has blessed me with this hobby...I absolutely love love love it!

Catching up on my sharing!

ok...now these are favors and invites for my sister-in-laws niece's baby shower. She came over and she and my niece helped put these together.

Here are the favors...little purses with velcro to close and beaded handle.

Here are the invitations...Hello Kitty style.

We stamped the inside with invite info.
Here are pics of the baby book I am making for her....

New shower favors...

It's been awhile! Been so busy with our Running for Parkinson's Org, the races, taking care of 4 children, and all of the crafting I've been doing! It's been busy but fun:o) I am sharing the favors that I made for my cousins shower. Her party theme was time of day...

I also made her a diaper cake for her gift. Since they are not finding out the sex until the baby comes, I asked her what her favorite characters were and one of her top choices was Hello Kitty...

An old journal entry from 2007.

Kids do say the funniest things...My little angels crack me up all the time. Over this past summer, my daughter went to Vacation Bible Camp for a couple hours a day for a week. When we all were gathering for dinner that night, I asked her if she had a memory verse to learn for the next day. She replied that she did, so I asked her if she knew what it was. She assured me she did and began to recite it......"God said you will catch men..." Bob 10:5! Well, I proceded to tell her that that couldn't be right, but she argued and argued that indeed it was Bob 10:5. At that point my son is saying to her "There is no Bob in the Bible...". By this time, I am trying really hard to control my laughter as I reach for my bible to find her scripture. After a few minutes, she came back in and announced "Oh wait a minute...it is Luke 5:10"

Ahhh....mistery solved!

Fathers day theme project

This is my take on a challenge from pinkstamper.com. It is supposed to be something with a Father's Day theme:o) I always love the idea of giving homemade 'coupons' from the kids cuz it is filled with hugs and fun stuff too. So, I decided to make one for My hubby - the best dad ever.

I used my new create a critter cartridge. I just really love that cart.!

Up and Running...

It is still being tweaked and details added, but our website is now up and running. Everyyone out there reading this<3 please check it out and let me know what you think.

http://www.runningforparkinsons.com/

Everyday, thru the Grace of God alone, we get a little closer to our ultimate goal and that is so exciting! I am praying for direction in this awesome project, that we will make this exactly what God intended for it to be:o)

Thru this journey I have definitely been leaving my comfort zone often. I am finding all kinds of groups like ours with the most amazing people, with amazing and compasionate stories. I have been in contact with a few and one girl - running for her mother who was diagnosed at the age of 41 (she was 11 at the time) - is considering coming to Erie to run our race with us...so cool!

God is good!

My new addiction

Well, it's official. I've finally flipped my lid...lol. I simply cannot get enough of these diaper cakes! It is so much fun trying to make it look like anything but a diaper cake...lol. This safari tree is not yet complete, but I just loved how the top turned out. I think we will actually use this idea for a babyshower coming up that my sister in law is throwing. And I already have my next diaper cake all planned out in my head...like I said, my new addiction!

My very first diaper cake

I am so excited! I have made my very first - of what will hopefully be many - diaper cake! I never even heard of one until I dove into the crafting world head first. I was browsing through some pictures on a cricut FB page, and I came across this awesome idea! I thought I was introducing something new to everyone I told about 'the diaper cake'. Turns out, everyone else has either seen one, or made one! I tell ya, sometimes I think I live in a bubble! I still have a few things to do to it...adding a couple more baby items...but all in all I am really happy with the turn out. And being my first attempt, it can only get better from here!

Procrastinating can be a good thing!

I am by nature the best procrastinator! I let things go until I am nearing the deadline, then I work frantically to get done what I started. Not to worry though. I always get er done on time, most of the time with no minutes left to spare, but done none the less.

Well, just recently I put together a baby book for Dan and Nicole for their bundle of joy.I worked on it here and there, trying to not put it off until the last minute. A few days before her due date, I finished it completely(pics are in previous post). I finished on time, and actually waited for over a week because the sweet little baby was not willing to arrive on time. I just loved the way it looked all decked out in blue and it even had the babys name on the cover - Tyler -...then the day finally came for the baby to be born. And when the baby arrived, it had a surprise of its own...Tyler was Amelia! We quickly removed Tyler, replaced it with Amelia and added a flower!

So, I guess my point of this is because of my impatience, I left my normal routine of waiting till the last min., and now Amelia has a funny story to tell about her Aunt Angie and her baby boy baby book:o)

What a beautiful baby she is. God is awesome!

Baby hopefully on the way:o)

Well, my sis-in-law was due on the 11th, and I heard they may be inducing today. Crossing my fingers for this. I can't imagine being 11 days past due. I am going crazy and it isn't even me!! I made a book from her baby shower that I am dieing to give to her. It is made up of well wishes and some advice from all of the women who were at the shower. I just love how it turned out:o)

Happy St. Patrick's Day:o)

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I cannot believe that it is in the 50's and sunny. What happened to our annual predictable Paddy's Day snow storm?! don't get me wrong...I'm not complaining, but it certainly is a pleasant surprise.

This morning I woke up and went right out to my cricut to make a lephracan with my Paper Dolls dress up cartridge. Once I got going though, I ended up making a card to hold a flower MArisa wanted to give her teacher. I love it when that happens. I start out just playing and the next thing you know I have a full blown project in my hands. Here is my creation for this holiday. I am pleased with how it turned out.

Photobucket

I love the crafting world. I am a pleaser by nature, so it is so fun for me to be able to make people smile with my creations. I feel truly blessed that the Lord has given me this love, and the opportunity to reach out to others through this. I am praying that one day, he will be able to use me with the gifts he has given me.

Let everything I do be done in love (true love to God and ,an as inspired by God's love for me) -1 Corinthians 16:14

My Easter craft

Well, I know it is early but I was still on a crafting high from Valentine's Day, so I started on my Easter craft. I did four different projects and came up with this...I think it turned out super cute!

easter pic 2 Easter pic 3

I am having a blast with my crafting, and I thank the Lord everyday for this new found love. I have lost some things that I love due to my tremors. Like playing my violin...but he has filled the void with my crafts. And the best part is, when I am crafting - my tremors don't slow me down:o) The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, but at the end of the day, I know that he is ALWAYS there for me...and you too! :o)

I did it!

Yesterday for my 2-hour wait while Marisa was at Cheer practice, I sat in the snack area and worked on my new project. I bought a Spiderman pillow kit to make for Ben for his birthday. I thought it was going to be hard to do but...
Funny thing was, it wasn't difficult at all. I had so much fun doing this! Towards the very end, it started getting difficult for me to tie the knots, but here it is! And Jillee is sad cause she wants a pillow too. So I think I'll head on out to Joanns and get started on hers!

Here is Ben with his new pillow...Jillee too:o)

Ben and his favorite 'outfit'

This is my Ben, who just turned 3, in his favorite outfit. I cannot get him to wear anything else! When we are leaving the house in the middle of a snow storm, we have to compromise. We tell him, put these warm clothes on now, then when you get home you can put your soccer clothes back on. He agrees, and I am telling you as soon as we walk thru the door he is stripping asking "Where is my outfit".

I have a new system. When we leave the house, the clothes go in the washer, then in the dryer when we get home. HE is patient enough to wait until they get dried, but he is asking the whole time...Is my outfit done yet?!

They are so funny at this age! I asked him what he's gonna do when these clothes don't fit him anymore. He just looked at me and said "MOM...they fit fine!" Hopefully they have this in an adult large?!

I must say, I am totally in love with my cricut! I know I have not even scratched th surface on what it can do, but I am having so much fun playing! I cannot wait to learn more. I am waiting for my design studio to come in the mail, and my 'Your Story' laminator is scheduled to be here on the 11th. Got any projects??? BRING THEM ON! I love, love, love scrapping!
Here are a few things I've played with so far:

New Year Resolutions...

Happy New Yeaar! I hope this year brings lots of joy, peace and happiness. I do not make resolutions for my new years, mainly because most never stick, and I just do not like starting my year out as a failure! I do however, take the time to pray over the new year. I am dedicating my year to the Lord. Whatever he has 'resolved' for my journey to be this year I am looking forward to. I am already blessed with a wonderful family and friends. I was feeling exremely blessed New Year's Day. There was a huge snow storm brewing outside. I was in my kitchen cricutting all day while my pork dinner was cooking in the roaster. My whole family was lounging, watching loony toons and snoozing all day. It was such a peaceful cozy atmosphere. I was feeling so blessed to have a home that could shelter such a warm cozy day when it was so blustery outside. I love how my year has started out already, and I am anxious to see what the year will bring. With God in the drivers seat, and My wonderful hubby and kids standing by my side, it's gonna be a gr8 and wonderful adventure.
I am praying for the very same for all of you:o)
